Common Questions

When is the best time to book my newborn session?

Its never too early to book your newborn session with us. Most clients usually book with us between 20-30 weeks of their pregnancy. Availability is always limited to allow us that extra wriggle room needed to accommodate each baby's arrival.

How soon after arrival will my newborn session take place?

We like to photograph newborns within the first 3 weeks -this is when there are their most sleepy and curly which enables us to capture more of those cute, cuddly poses.

How long will my session last?

A typical newborn session lasts between 2-3 hours. We allow plenty of time for soothing and feeding breaks. Sessions are never rushed and we go baby's pace - after all, they're the star of the show!

My baby is already over 2 weeks old, is it too late to book?

It is still possible to book your session with us after baby's first 2 weeks. However, we do stress that the images might not be similar to those you see on our website. It will be likely that some of your images will be of an awake baby. After 3 weeks babys are less sleepy and wake easier so we plan for more wrapped and prop set-ups.

Do you include siblings in the newborn sessions?

We love to include parents & siblings into our newborn sessions! However, we do remind parents that the main focus of the session is the baby. We'll set some time aside to capture images of siblings and baby but if its too challenging we'll move on. We kindly ask  that you do not set high expectations of your toddler at the newborn session: especially for siblings aged 3 years and under.

What if my baby doesn't settle or doesn't like being posed?

We have photographed hundreds of babies over the last ten+ years: we are newborn experts! Your baby will eventually sleep...if that requires extra feed breaks, more cuddles, rocking, burping, swaddling then that's fine by us. We'll do whatever it takes to soothe your little one - you can just sit back and enjoy the tea, coffee and biscuits! We are proud parents too and completely understand any concerns you may have.

Is there anything I need do before we arrive at the studio?

Once you're all booked in we'll send you a PDF client guide containing all the information you need on preparing for your session. All the tips & tricks you can do to make sure your morning with us goes smoothly.

When will i see my images?

After the shoot, I'll grab my diary and we'll arrange a viewing appointment. This is usually scheduled for about 1 week after the shoot. We'll also explain what artwork options are available and you'll also get a product & price guide to take away with you.
